Prosecutors denied reports of September 3 about their demands for 25 years in prison for North Caucasus militant Ali Taziyev (Magas) and said that they demanded life imprisonment for the suspect, RIA Novosti reports.
Taziyev was arrested in 2010 and cooperated with investigators. He denied responsibility for the crimes he was charged with, only admitting membership in a gang and carrying a pistol.
Taziyev was detained in North Ossetia in June 2010 together with 13 other militants. The investigation into his case ended in October 2012. The case consists of 24 episodes, 90 volumes, 600 victims and 400 witnesses. The suspect is charged with 15 articles of the Criminal Code.
Taziyev is suspected of the bus blast in Nevinnomyssk in December 2007 (3 dead, 17 injured), blast at the Nazranovsky District Police Department of Ingushetia in August 2009 (21 dead, 289 injured), attack on Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov (two bodyguards dead, two other people, including Yevkurov, injured).
