A police officer has been shot dead in the Russian North Caucasian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, the local office of the Russian Interior Ministry says in a statement.
The incident occured at around 8 p.m. Moscow times in the twon of Baksan. Captain Aslan Karachayev was shot dead by unknown persons who then left the scene of the crime.
