Israfil Ashurly, President of the Azerbaijani Alpinism Federation, voted at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Berne.
The alpinist said that he had planned to vote on October 7, but ballot papers arrived only on October 9. About 80 people could vote in Berne at 9.00 am – 7.00 pm. His ascension on the Mont Blanc on October 9 was postponed.
Ashurly said that he had voted for Ilham Aliyev and noted the president’s effort to combat corruption and continue the country's progress.
