102 illegal Syrian migrants, most of them women and children, were caught in Istanbul in an attempt to move to Romania, Trend reports.
The conflict in Syria started in March 2011 and has resulted in over 115 people killed, over 4.2 million becoming internal refugees in Syria and 2 million refugees fleeing abroad. Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Turkey are the main targets for refugees.
Over 4 million will have to leave Syria or become displaced people in 2014. Fuat Oktay, head of AFAD (Turkey), said that about 300,000 Syrian refugees were staying in Turkey.
