1200 people were detained in the Biryulyovo Zapadnoye District of Moscow yesterday. They organized a demonstration with demands to find the murderers of Yegor Shcherbakov. 23 people were injured and 380 were detained by the police during mass disorder at Pugachyov (Saratov Region) in similar disorders in July.
Yevgeny Minchenko, Director of the International Institute for Political Expertise, described changes in migration policy needed to prevent such incidents. He emphasized the need for adequate reaction of the authorities to such situations. The expert said that the police could have posted photos of suspects to show that they were actually searching for the murderers. Minchenko concluded that nothing was done to give the public a sense of an active search.
