Igor Larra, a journalist of Kazakh paper Svoboda Slova beaten up by unidentified assailants in August 2013, died at the age of 41 yesterday, RIA Novosti reports.
The police suspect that the attack was organized over the journalist’s professional activities. Dunja Mijatovic, an OSCE official for freedom of mass media, urged Kazakh law enforcers to organize immediate investigations. A suspect was caught a few days after the attack.
