South Korean sentenced for spying in Iran

A 44-year-old South Korean was jailed for 7 years in Iran for spying, RIA Novosti reports.

Pak Ben Sok of the National Assembly said that the man named Kim had been arrested in October 2012. His sentence was announced in September 2013. The police found photos of police stations, foreign embassies, military facilities, border signs in his house.

Kim received a three-month visa to enter Iran during the journey through the Middle East he started in early October 2012. He told consuls that he had no full-time job and was making photos. South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se said that consuls were helping Kim appeal for release.
