Alexey Navalny, a Russian oppositionist, has got 5 years of probation at the Kirov Regional Court over the case of Kirovles, RIA novosti reports.
According to prosecutors, Navalny organized a scheme with Petr Ofitserov, Director of the Vyatka Wood Company, and Vyacheslav Opalev, Director General of Kirovles, to steal over 10,000 cubic meters of wood in May-September 2009. He got 5 years on July 18, Ofitserov got 4 years.
The suspects paid 1 million rubles of compensations for damage to Kirovles.
Navalny was a candidate for mayor of Moscow. He promised to continue the political struggle, Interfax reports.
