Chechnya to continue the Mashuk initiative

The Chechen Republic intends to host a summer camp, similar to the ‘Mashuk-2010’ one, for young people from all Caucasian republics next year, RIA Novosti reports.

‘Mashuk-2010’ opened last Monday near Pyatigorsk and will last till August 27th. Two thousand young people from all North Caucasian regions, as well as from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, will take part in it.

The preparations for the future event are already underway in Chechen Republic. The authorities plan to open the camp in April or May. The head of the Republic’s department of youth affairs, Murat Tagiev, addressed the participants of the ongoing youth forum and suggested that the guests of the camp be hosted by Chechen families. According to him, this idea will benefit better understanding between peoples of the Caucasus.

An education program has been exclusively worked out by experts for the ‘Mashuk-2010’ project. It consists of three required courses: ‘International interaction’, ‘Project management’ and ‘Efficient communications’. All guests of the summer camp can also participate in a competition for grants (from 50 to 200 thousand roubles) by presenting their own projects on various topics. The total grant sum is 10 million roubles.
Several high-ranking officials are due to visit the forum.
