The Chechen police detained a Alkhan-Kala resident suspected of joining Arbi Barayev's militant group in 1996, RIA Novosti reports.
The police suspect that the man was part of the group until October 2000.
Barayev himself was killed in a special operation in June 2001. He was one of the cruelest militants of the Caucasus.
