Alexey Vlasov, Editor-in-Chief of Vestnik Kavkaza, emphasized that the attack last week on Spartak Zhidkov, an Abkhaz journalist and member of the Aynar Media Club of Abkhazia, was an attempt to put pressure on honest and professional journalists writing articles on political and socio-economic problems.
Vlasov stated that the incident had caused major outrage and concerns among Russian media sources. He expressed hope that the situation was an exception.
