First shift ends at ‘Mashuk-2010’

Today the first shift ended at the ‘Mashuk-2010’ youth summer camp. The official ceremony opening the second one will take place tomorrow. The main subject of the educational activities during the second shift will substantially differ from the main theme of the first: now young people will study politics.
As VK was exclusively informed by the Presidential Administration’s Interior Affairs department, Alexander Khloponin, the Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President to the North Caucasus Federal District, visited the Forum yesterday and talked to representatives of all regional groups at the camp.
The activists from Stavropol Krai presented the Vice-Premier with a project aimed at settling one of the most urgent problems of young people – housing. It implies that young people would be given an opportunity to participate in the construction of their future houses. The prime cost of a square meter in these houses shouldn’t exceed 8 thousand roubles. Mr Khloponin approved of the project in general but pointed out several inconsistencies.
All guests of ‘Mashuk-2010’ expressed their gratitude to the project and the desire to see the project turn into an annual event.
Alexander Khloponin also discussed the issue of unemployment with young participants of the Forum. He pointed out that the settlement of this problem is a long and difficult process, but the goal is attainable. He also told the audience that many of the North Caucasus' problems are due to a lack of attention from federal government, but this has already changed.
The Vice-Premier discussed the issue of youth extremism with the Dagestani delegation. In his opinion, only activities like ‘Mashuk-2010’ can help settle national conflicts in the region.
Mr Khloponin expressed his satisfaction and even surprise with the creative attitude and active social positions of the young people from the Caucasus region.
