The autumn conscription has started in Georgia this Wednesday. It is planned that 3,500 men aged between 18 and 27 years will join the army this year.
Those who do not attend the conscription will be fined 1000 lary (about $550). The period of service in the army is one year. Twice a month soldiers can visit their families.
Today the Georgian army consists of 38,281 men, most of them serving on contracts.
