Chechen families in poverty receive aid on Day of Ashura

Aymani Kadyrova, President of the Regional Public Fund of Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, has given over 40,000 bags of flour, rice and sugar to low-income families in Chechnya, the Chechen government reports.Adam Jovtokhanov, a Chechen Presidential Assistant, said that the Day of Ashura in the month of Muharram was a time when good deeds were rewarded a thousand times greater.Islamic education centers received food too.According to the Holy Quran, the Lord  created the earth and sky on the Day of Ashura, marked on the 10th day of the month. The first day of the lunar calendar is called Muharram.
