The state of emergency was lifted in Bulungu and Eltyubyu (Chegemsky District, Kabardino-Balkaria) at 6.00 pm on December 8. The regime was imposed at about midnight due to a break on the gas pipeline, ITAR-TASS reports.
100m of the pipeline was replaced by local gas company Kabbalkgaz.Traffic was restored on the Chegem-Bulungu Road between Khushto-Syrt and Eltyubyu.
The road and the pipeline were damaged by a rockfall. Over 800 people in the two villages, a school and two medical centers experienced gas shortages.
