Russian Grand Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin said at the 9th Muslim forum in Moscow that migrants from the North Caucasus and CIS states should be respectful in Moscow and any other cities, RIA Novosti reports.
He believes that grievances towards migrants should not be dramatized. Gaynutdin said that, according to researchers, there were not enough young people in Middle Asia to make Muslims dominant in large Russian cities.
The Grand Mufti added that employable population in Russia was dropping at a rate of about a million per year. He urged the government to legalize migrants working in Russia.
