Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the list of events that Red Square will host: Victory Parade (May 9), Day of Slavic Literature and Culture (May 25), Day of Russia (June 12), loyalty oath-taking of military higher education centers (annually in the summer), historic parade (November 7), Spasskaya Bashnya festival of military orchestras and skating, Izvestia reports.
An official said that the list was made due to the scandal around the Louis Vuitton case on the Red Square. A study said that the Red Square was closed for visitors 200 days a year due to numerous events taking place there.
Events not included in the list will need to have a federal value in order to be included in it.
