The History Faculty of the Moscow State University of M.V. Lomonosov is holding the 5th science readings to mark the 90th anniversary of academician Ivan Kovalchenko, the faculty’s website reports.
Scientists of the MSU and other research centers of Russia will take part in the talks. Academician Sergey Pavlov, Dean of the History Faculty of the MSU, will make the opening speech.
Kovalchenko is one of the founders of cliometrics. He made a significant contribution to development of quantitative methods of historic research. He received the USSR State Premium for his achievements in 1989.
