Two police officers were killed in an operation to detain three suspected extorters in the Russian capital, the Moscow branch of the Interior Ministry said, RIA Novosti reports.
The killers opened fire on criminal investigation department officers on the Leningradskoye highway in the north of the city. The policemen died on their way to the hospital.
“Three men have been detained on suspicion of having committed the crime,” RIA Novosti quotes the Investigative Committee as saying.
