Militants in a car threw a grenade at law enforcers in Lechinkay in the Chegemsky District of Russia's southern republic Kabardino-Balkaria at 10.45 pm. The police opened counter-fire, triggering a bomb explosion in the car, Interfax reports.
An officer suffered from concussion.
A criminal case was initiated on attack on police officers and trafficking of explosives.The militants burned in the car cannot be identified.
