A roundtable discussion entitled "Russia and Abkhazia in the single information and spiritual environment" has ended in Sukhumi, Abkhazia. Summing up the results of the discussion, the editor-in-chief of the information and analytical agency Vestnik Kavkaza, Alexei Vlasov, said that the most important task for Russian and Abkhaz experts is the formation of permanent communication ties.
"Whenever an information vacuum appears, agents that do not always perceive the relationship between our two countries positively start to fill it in," the expert said. As one of the examples of such development Vlasov mentioned the subject of church dialogue.
Famous church publicist Michael Tyurenkov noted that speculation about the schism in Abkhazia arises because of the difference in canonical and legal laws in this respect.
