Alexey Kudrin, Head of the Committee for Civil Initiatives, has described the civil society of the North Caucasus. He said that Dagestan, for example, was realizing the Civil University project. The University had 10 sessions last year to discuss development of autonomies, civil society, non-commercial organizations, topical problems.
According to the official, a special project called Monitoring of the Condition of the Civil Society of the North Caucasus is being launched. He added that over 90 representatives of North Caucasus republics attended the first seminar of the project in Moscow to discuss solutions of problems.
Kudrin noted that the talks at the seminar concerned such problems as moral orientations of the North Caucasus, young people, development of social institutions, support of the population, prevention of poverty.
