One dead as electric train collides with jeep in Dagestan

An electric train crashed into a jeep at a crossing near the Manas Station (Makhachkala Region of the North Caucasus Highway) in the Karabudakhkentsky District of Dagestan at 8.46 am today, Interfax reports.The train used emergency breaks but the distance was too small to stop. The driver of the jeep died. The accident caused a half-hour delay of a train on the Derbent-Makhachkala railway.
