Pavel Pechenkin, a member of the Buynaksk Gang of Dagestan, a native of Povolzhsk (Mariy El), is suspected of triggering the bomb at a railway station in Volgograd, Interfax reports.
According to the police, he joined the militants in spring 2012. His parents Nikolai and Fanazia arrived in Dagestan in September and were searching for him in Buynaksk and the Buynaksky District. Meanwhile, their son changed his name to Ansar Ar-rusi.
Pechenkin worked as a paramedic. His father has given blood samples for analysis this morning.
17 people died and dozens were injured by a bomb equivalent to 10kg of TNT in yesterday's blast at Volgograd's main train station. Over 10 were also killed this morning in a bomb attack on a trolleybus in the city.
