Georgia starts investigating prison torture

The Office of the Georgian Chief Prosecutor has started investigating 170 cases of tortures and humiliation in jails. Criminal cases have been initiated against 52 people, Trend reports.

The list of suspects includes 9 wardens, 7 deputy wardens and other high-ranking officials. 29 people have been charged.
