Chechnya marked the 57th anniversary of the restoration of the republic at the State Theater and Concert Hall yesterday, Yuga.ru reports.
Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov called the restoration one of the brightest events of Chechen history. He reminded that the Chechen people had been deported for 13 years, until restoration of the Chechen-Ingush Soviet Republic on January 9, 1957, by the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR. Chechen and Ingush people were massively deported in Kazakhstan and Middle Asia in 1944.
