Prosecutors of North Ossetia will investigate the death of a one-year-old girl with grave injuries who died in hospital, ITAR-TASS reports.
The girl was hospitalized with five skull fractures on January 14. Medics were unable to save the child. They say that the fractures were not a result of a fall.
Her 29-year-old mother was recognized guilty of injuring the girl. The child had been previously hospitalized with nose, shoulder and hip injuries. In this case, her mother was found guilty of hurting the child and jailed for 1.6 years. When she was released, she was obliged to see a psychiatrist. According to the woman’s version, the injuries were caused by a fall. She also gave birth to a son two years ago.
