Crime rate dropped threefold in North Caucasus in 4 years

Alexander Khloponin, Russian Vice Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District, said that the crime rate in the region had dropped threefold in the past 4 years, Yuga.ru reports.

He clarified that almost all militant leaders were destroyed. 80% of terrorists were engaged in racketeering and scaring people, the rest were recruiting young people to join their ranks, Khloponin noted.
