Ukrainian opposition wants talks with president

Vitaly Klichko, leader of the UDAR Party of Ukraine, demanded that President Victor Yanukovych speak with the opposition, Interfax reports.

Yanukovych appointed Andrey Klyuyev, Secretary of the National Security Council, as Head of the working group for settlement of the political crisis. Klichko said that Klyuyev was personally responsible for the violent crackdown the police organized on November 30. The oppositionist warned that talks without Yanukovych may fail and cause escalation of protests.
