Head of district of Stavropol Territory detained

Victor Gubanov, head of the Shpakovsky District of the Stavropol Territory, was detained for receiving a bribe of 1.7 million rubles, said Yekaterina Danilova, a senior assistant of the head of the local Investigative Directorate, Interfax reports.According to investigators, the functionary received the bribe for letting a businessman win the auction to buy rooms for the children’s Art House in Mikhaylovsk.The police say that Gubanov demanded the businessman to pay the sum in order to get a contract to purchase the property for municipal needs.
