Azerbaijan and Turkey will use technologies of the Institute for Cybernetics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences to study seismological processes, said Director of the Institute Telman Aliyev, day.az reports.
Two monitoring stations were opened in Istanbul and connected with the Institute.
A contract for cooperation with the Bogazici University of Istanbul will soon be signed.
Aliyev said that the earthquake that had hit Istanbul in early December 2013 had been registered 15 hours before hitting the city. The project will be expanded, opening a station in Izmir and another one in Georgia.
