Head of the Nogaysky Municipal District of Karachay-Cherkessia is suspected of racketeering businessmen, RIA Novosti reports.
The functionary and his chief specialist for agriculture, environmental protection demanded a businessman to pay 1.5 million rubles for lease of 4,500 square meters of land along the Kavkaz M-29 Federal Highway and to set billboards.
A criminal case has been initiated.
