Russia's Krasnodar Territory is establishing a fund to stimulate the quality of education in the region. Schools that achieve success will receive grants worth 4-5 million rubles, RIA Novosti reports, citing the governor of the region, Alexander Tkachov.
Today schools are financed according to norms based on the number of students, regardless of the quality of education, Tkachov said at a scientific-educational council in Krasnodar.
To determine the schools that deserve grants there will be monitoring of the quality of education and sporting achievements every year .
Tkachov said that state support resulted in the number of young teachers rising by 3% to 5% in the last 2 years.
