Russian President Vladimir Putin has met officials of the Public Council for the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. The meeting was attended by Majid Chachukh, President of the public parliament of the Black Sea Adyghe Shapsugs and President of the International Circassian Association. Chachukh said that the Sochi Public Council and all public organizations, including Adyghe Khase, had put every effort into realization of the ‘Together we win!’ slogan of the Olympics.
Chachukh reminded that Adyghe Shapsugs gave unanimous votes for the Olympic Games in Sochi. He said that the Olympic project stimulated the socio-cultural development of Adyghe villages in the Lazarevsky District.
The official invited Putin to the Adyghe homeland. He noted that over 25 people were invited.
The Adyghe House opened in the Olympic Park as a sign that Circassians support the Olympic Games. Chachukh said that the Krasnodar Territory had many residential areas of Adyghes.
Putin thanked the Adyghe elders for their understanding and wise signals given to society.
