Authorities of the Pyatigorsk District (Stavropol Territory) and the Muslim Administration have chosen a spot in Pyatigorsk for construction of a mosque.
The Pyatigorsk administration filed a lawsuit in September 2013 to demolish an illegally-built mosque. The demolition process started in December 2013. Authorities of Kislovodsk demanded demolition of mosques in the Belorechensky and Industria Village of the city in 2013. Muhammad-Haji Rakhimov, Mufti of the Stavropol Territory, said that the decision was cancelled and land spots were offered for a large mosque construction in Pyatigorsk.
