The International Olympic Committee has rejected a request from Ukraine at the 2014 Winter Olympics held in the Russian city of Sochi to wear black armbands, world media report on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian Olympic team wished to wear black armbands in memory of the 25 people who have been killed in violent protests between the police and anti-government demonstrators in the country's capital of Kyiv.
