Astronaut Valery Kubasov dies

Valery Kubasov, USSR astronaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, has died at the age of 79, ITAR-TASS reports.Kubasov was born in 1935 and became an astronaut in 1966. He went into space in 1969, 1975 and 1980 and took part in the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project together with Soviet astronaut Alexey Leonov.
