The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, said at an expanded board of the Committee today that enemies of Russia wanted to use the North Caucasus as a detonator to destabilize the situation in the country, ITAR-TASS reports.
Bastrykin reminded that over 600 terrorist-related crimes were committed and 31 terrorist attacks had been organized in 2013. The Investigative Committee worked on 300 terrorist crimes in the North Caucasus last year.
Work on over 200 cases was accomplished and most of them were sent to the court.
