In his speech to the people, the President of Kabardino-Balkaria, Arsen Kanokov, called the last 89 years a switch from a patriarchal-feudal to a modern national-state structure as part of Russia.

The president said that the most significant achievement is the ascension from widespread illiteracy to a high level of education. He also noted that the republic coped with the repercussions of the financial-economic recession and is developing steadily.

Kanokov said that this all inspires confidence that the people of Kabardino-Balkaria will continue their path of peace and social progress as part of the multinational family of peoples of the Russian Federation.
