Over 200,000 drug-related crimes prevented in Russia

Victor Ivanov, Head of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service, said that about 900 drug syndicate had been shut down in 2013. Over 12,600 criminal cases of organized crime had been investigated, over 10,000 of them by members of the Federal Service, ITR-TASS reports.

Over 231,000 drug-related crimes were prevented in 2013. About 118,000 people were punished, including 3,500 foreigners and over 4,000 criminals from Central Asia with Russian passports.
