Pakistani militants killed one of the five Iranian border guards kidnapped in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province on February 6. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon spoke out against the murder, RIA Novosti reports.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani urged Pakistani authorities to investigate the kidnapping. Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli said in mid-February that Iran could use its own forces to release the border guards.
Group of militants attacked Iranian border guards in Seravan in October 2013. 14 people died in the attack.
