Five militants, including Khasavyurt gang leader Tural Atayev (Azerbaijan), born in 1988, were killed in a clash with the police in Pervomayskoye (Khasavyurtovsky District, Dagestan), Interfax reports.
Investigators say that Atayev was one of the organizers of the Pyatigorsk blast in December 2013.
One officer was killed and one wounded in the counter-terrorism operation. Weapons and ammo were found in the area.
