Spokesman of the US White House Jay Carney said that the United States was not planning to impose new economic sanctions on Russia. They would only be imposed for a further violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, ITAR-TASS reports.
According to Carney, the US was not recognizing the annexation of Crimea by Russia.
Considering the lifting of sanctions, the official notes that this can be achieved on condition that Russian forces withdraw from the occupied peninsula and Moscow starts a dialogue with the Ukrainian government.
