Viking-2014 NATO exercises begin in Georgia

The NATO international command-staff exercises “Viking-2014” have started in Georgia on a military base in Vaziani.

 

The Defense Ministry of Georgia reports that the Viking exercises are being conducted simultaneously in each country-member of NATO; the headquarters is situation in Sweden, which is the leading country in the exercises. Participants get orders and tasks through video communication.

 

This year soldiers and officers from Georgia, Bulgaria, Ireland, Serbia, and Sweden take part in the exercises, as well as representatives of international organizations, European command of the USA, and the Defense Ministry of Sweden, ITAR-TASS reports.

 

The exercises will end on April 10th.
