Authorized experts of the Caspian littoral states of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran have gathered in Ashgabat to discuss a draft agreement on the conservation and sustainable use of biological resources of the Caspian Sea.
This document is intended to preserve the rich natural world of the Caspian Sea and provide a consistent level of environmental management in accordance with the interests of the economy and ecology of each of the parties, News Azerbaijan reports.
It should be noted that in December last year, Azerbaijan , Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan agreed to prohibit industrial sturgeon fishing in the Caspian Sea in 2014.
