Spokesman of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies Alexander Drobyshevsky said that an Il-76 plane with over 14 tons of humanitarian aid was sent to Syria. It will pick up CIS citizens on its way back, RIA Novosti reports.
It will land in Latakia.
Russia has sent over 150 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria this year. About 1,200 Russians were evacuated from Syria.
