A forest fire began today 20 km from the Georgian capital. The fire has spread to cover 15 hectares of forest, Gazeta.ru cites the Georgian radio-station "Palitra". 11 fire brigades are trying to cope with the blaze.
The firemen are supported by representatives of the Emergency Situations Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police. According to the head of the rescue services, the fire could have been caused by visitors who didn't put out their cigarettes.
