Two earthquakes struck Kabardino-Balkaria yesterday.
The first tremor was recorded at 3am on the border with South Ossetia, 57 km east of Nalchik. The magnitude was measured at 4 on the Richter scale.
The second earthquake was recorded at around 3pm, 18 km north of the village of Elbrus and 80 km west of Nalchik. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre ( EMSC), the epicenter was as deep as 5 km under the earth's surface. The magnitude was 3.6 points, the UGA portal reports.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has not released any information about the consequences of the earth tremors.
