Over 500 Iranian towns suffer from water shortage

 

Hamidreza Janbas, director of the Iranian Water Supply and Sewer Services Company, said that 517 Iranian towns were suffering from water deficit, Trend reports.He explained that the problems were caused by unbalanced population growth in some areas. The official noted that water in the provinces of Gilan, Hormozgan and Kirman had been supplied according to schedule since July 2013.Iran is located in a dry area. It has had numerous droughts in the last 40 years.
