Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev said at the Caspian Energy Forum that Azerbaijan was interested in increasing their exports of energy resources to Europe, abc.az reports.
He said that experts were predicting major changes in the demands for energy in Europe in 2030. Aliyev added new energy sources would boost competition, reduce oil prices, weaken Russian monopoly.
In his words, the complicated situation on the world market started from the gas war of Russia and Ukraine. Considering the political events in Iran and Iraq, Azerbaijan was picked as a reliable partner. Aliyev reiterated that the Caspian Region was actively collaborating with the European market.
The minister said that the corridor from Azerbaijan to Italy will need $50 billion to deliver the gas extracted within the framework of the second stage of Shah Deniz development to European markets.
